Caspian Sea - Hastings

We received our order from a friendly and cheerful woman who wished us to enjoy our meal. And we certainly did. The cod was large with a crispy, non-greasy batter and plenty of crispy chips. There was so much food that we couldn't finish it all, but it was delicious and well worth the price. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

The food at this restaurant is outstanding, especially the hake. The staff is friendly and it is definitely our favorite place for fish and chips.

I went to this restaurant to grab some chips for my partner and myself before catching the train. I had heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. I placed my order and was told it would be a few minutes, but it ended up taking closer to 15 or 20 minutes. I was fine with this as I knew they were cooking it fresh. I stood by the wall to stay out of the way, as there was nobody else in the shop. However, I was told to take a seat. I politely declined and said I preferred to stand. The staff then threatened to give me a refund if I didn't sit down. When I asked why I needed to sit, they couldn't provide a reason and attempted to give me my money back. I refused and eventually received my food, which was okay but not the best I've had. The customer service was terrible, and based on this experience, I would not return to this restaurant.
