Contribuiți la feedbackHad been to different spice traders across New zealand ...Hastings menu appeared different with wide variety including Bombay chinese &South Indian dishes!!<br/ <br/ Chola bhatura...too filling ! Masala dosa, sambar and tomato chutney were satisfactory...not heavily priced.
This was the first indian restaurant that i got food from in hastings...Well i did order the butter chicken n rotti....and also the chole battura........well the chole battura...was rather good n fulfilling....the butter chicken, being an indian, did not like it because it felt like eating hot ice cream with chicken pieces(this was basically for the kiwis)....well if ur an indian do ask them to make it in the traditional indian style with a bit more spice......once i did order the chicken biriyani....it was good..had good texture n flavour
So, we guys were just craving for South Indian breakfast... And came across this... First ones through the door and we got Masala Dosa, Vada and Idly. Everything was spot on... Felt just like home. The Idly was not as soft as I had expected, but the Vada, Sambar and coconut chutney were splendid. Tomato chutney didn't feel like back home... But hey... Can't complain! Prices are decent too, it's worth it!
Spice traders is absolutl awesome i have found my regular butter chicken stop. Always delishous and filling!always get great service!will be going in as soon as the shop opens for my butter chicken rice and garlic cheese nann bread!
Had lunch with the girlfriends here. I had the chickpea curry, while my girlfriends had the mild chicken and vegetarian curry. The food was typical indian fare, but service was just perfect. I also tried the mango lassi super refreshing.
