Big Al's Seafood Venue - Harvey

Absolutely the BEST fried shrimp in town! I've visited numerous restaurants in New Orleans, but this one stands out as the best by far! The atmosphere is humble, yet the service is fantastic, the food is fresh, and the prices are excellent! The buffet is also incredibly well-stocked!

The dining experience was excellent! The menu featured delicious options such as fried shrimp, baked fish, and baked chicken, along with red beans, jambalaya, and seafood dishes. The seafood gumbo was packed with crab, and there were also boiled crabs, slaw, and potatoes. On top of that, there was a salad bar, fruits, and desserts available. The prices were reasonable too, with brunch costing $14.95 from Monday to Saturday and $16.95 on Sundays.

The owner was very friendly and personable, chatting with us each time he came to our table. The food arrived quickly and was exceptionally fresh. This place is truly a hidden gem, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the presentation. The front sign is torn and obscures some of the text, and the bathroom lacks hand-drying facilities, desperately needing an upgrade. Nonetheless, the food and the service from the owner are fantastic!

This place is amazing!!! The portions were huge and we couldn't finish our food. Everything was very delicious and it was hot (temperature). This place is a must.

I got a ribeye via Uber Eats. It was a good steak at a great price. It was quality meat and I'll be having it again, with great garlic bread. I'm a steak fanatic and I can't give it five stars compared to some ribeyes I've had a expensive restaurants but I'd definitely give it 4.5 stars if I could, with a 5 for value.
