Black Creek Bistro - Hartsville

I highly recommend this restaurant if you go through or live near Hartsville, SC. We were on the road and arrived late there, but we are treated as old friends. We were received and fed well! We ordered the goat cheese Fritters as starters. I had the salmon and my husband had the ribeye. They were so prepared and melted in the mouth. We also splashed with a piece of salted caramel cheese cake. Certainly worth stopping the time! Look forward to your coffee shop, The Rooster One Thirty Six, this morning!

First time going here on a whim and glad I did atmosphere is classy and private feeling ,you immediately feel like you?re about to treat yo self and you are. The goat cheese fritters blew my mind the steaks were deliscious and then came to desert we couldn?t decide so we ordered two of the three we were looking at and both were excellent the owners wife (I?m assuming) was our waitress and she saw our interest in the third and brought us a slice of that option on the house . I will say it was a slow night so they seemed more lax in greeting and procedure but as a fairly casual guy this made me feel more relaxed in the environment anyway. I?m taking my best friend on a bro date this week because I want to show this place off to others.

First time ever eating here. My 3 stars is very generous considering. Was told over the phone that we did not need a reservation, stood waiting while several staff members passed us by asking if we had reservations and that someone would be with us shortly considering the place seemed empty. Finally seated our appetizer was great but our entrees were small and cold and our waiter was practically non existent. For that kind of money I would rather go anywhere else. Will NOT be going there again.

So I have mixed feelings about this place. First off it was my husband's and my first time ever eating there. The atmosphere is super cute but we both got sick from eating the same meal. The waitress also forgot about us as she carried quite an extensive conversation with some people at another table. It was a slow night but we were ready to go as it was nearing 9 PM. I can't say if we will ever go back. I can say we won't be going back anytime soon.

Had dinner here good selections, food was tasty and well presented as well as decent quantity. price for area is a bit higher, but in my opinion is worth the cost. attentive staff and owners. does not seem to be busy even for a Saturday night when I was there. steak cooked as desired and did not have to send back. baked sweet potato was very well presented and well seasoned. overall I enjoyed my experience. not 5 starts as this was my first experience, if I go again I might uprate.
