The rooms were fine, spacious but we were towards the back end of the hotel and trying to navigate the corridors in pitch black wasn’t enjoyable. On the plus side the food was good and plentiful.
So really like the surrounding areas in Pateley Bridge ,so my wife decided to book a night away for us at the Harefielc Hall . First impression was that of a ring doorbell at the entrance to the building ,after pressing the doorbell we was greeted by a friendly chap who booked us in quite quickly. Downstairs in the reception area it was very dark almost dingy and had a shall we say very foisty smell to it which continued all the way up the corridor to our room . Our room was very spacious with lovely views and was clean also. Now don't get me wrong I'm no snob but the whole place needs lots of tlc and modernisation to bring up to a satisfactory standard ,for example the blind in the room couldn't be pulled down due to the fact the string/chain was broken ,the tap for bath the came off in my hand the shower head constantly leaked ,coupled with the fact that the room was decorated entirely in hares and rabbits that seemed to follow you wherever you moved to lol it was like living on the set of a creepy version of watership down. We ordered some sides from the bar to take to our room as there wasn't any availability in yhe restaurant until a little later , the food was not very good frozen onion rings with hand cut chips that looked like they had been sat there all night ,needless to say we didn't eat them. We slept well as the bed was very comfortable and warm . Arriving for breakfast we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to a table, it wasn't busy but our breakfast did take a while to arrive and when it did we was again very disappointed, I had ordered eggs benedict but the eggs were way overcooked and hard so asked if I could have some more , it literally took another 20 minutes to make at which point my wife finished her scrambled egg on toast 10 minutes prior , we literally stood up to leave and the eggs benedict arrived ,this time cooked well I might add but by this time it was just too late . All in all the staff were friendly etc but I wouldn't stay again not for the price we paid as it just reminded me off something that GordanRamsey would be trying to save
Spent 2 nights with a party of 7 friends whilst walking in the Dales. Harefield Hall is a fantastic period venue with large rooms, a restaurant and bar and good secure parking. Good to sit outside in the good weather too! Easy walking to the centre of Pateley Bridge and to be honest the right place to stay. Elaine and her small team really looked after us and made our visit memorable. We intended to eat at Harefield on the first night and go into Pateley on the second night but the food was so good on the first night we dined in on the second night as well! Breakfast eggs are from chickens at Harefield I will be back when staying again in the area!!
Lovely ambience. French onion soup was not at all authentic (it should be a brown colour, now light cream, and it should be full of flavour, not taste of stock cubes). The main courses were ok. Sea bass excellent but vegetables over cooked. Staff excellent. Great building in lovely setting. Not worth the money.
Stayed here as a Britstop, the food was top notch as was the service ambience, we couldn’t fault it. Ate here two nights, chicken one night then pork the next, both superb. Also sampled a few of their single malt whiskeys! We will definitely return
