Francesco's - Harrisonburg

A nice Italian-style restaurant with Carryout Pizza. There is a TV on the wall, but the atmosphere is quiet and a bit on the dark side. It can be a bit hard to find in the corner of a small shopping center, but it is one of half a dozen food locations there and plenty of parking for lunch break.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience tonight. I ordered online and asked for her fried Calamari and her calfsläser. Her Kalamari was unusable. They had a thick smell, like bad fish, who immediately worried me. The Kalamari were thin, discolored and absolutely stone-hard. I was still trying to try one, but I couldn't even go through it. The piece I could taste was absolutely horrible. I published a picture to show you how inconspicuous they were. It did not come with lemon as it indicated online (perhaps it was just forgotten? What the calfs, I ordered online and there was the opportunity I wanted on the page. I chose Penne, but the job I received came with spaghetti. Not usually a big thing, just another trouble after the bad Calamari without lemon. The pasta sauce was good, and the pasta itself was okay. The calfs were a calf pot, no soil like a place I like. But after halfway through, I started to notice a strange aftertaste. It was like the calfs was good, but maybe all day spent eating and was on the edge of the bad turn. I was just halfway through it and put it in the garbage. The best dinner was the salad, with fresh salad and vegetables... my only complaint about it was really tiny, and I was hungry after I was unable to finish my meal. It's too bad. Years ago I worked nearby and would order from here quite often, sometimes weekly. Her calfs and Calamari were probably the best I could find in the city. I then moved a little further away and haven't eaten there for almost 3 years... until tonight. I don't know what happened in recent years, but it's not the Francesco I remember. It's something of the worst Italian food I've ever had, and honestly, I'm worried that the Calamari and/or veal could make me sick. I have it with 2 stars instead of 1 for salad, pasta and prices... but it was close.

We ordered delivery this evening. Food was 15 minutes late and cold. For the price we paid it should have been at least warm. The flavor of the food was very good but cold. The delivery guy didn't even have the food in a insulated pizza bag.

This was THE WORST FOOD. We ordered Chicken Alfredo and it was disgusting. 'Could not even taste the parmesan cheese...only a bland cream sauce wannabe . Giving it a single star only because the salad was fresh at least. But they could not even give us the right salad dressing we ordered. No exuse. NEVER AGAIN. WHAT A RIP-OFF!

Pretty good food. They have some unique items. The reason for the 1 star is for something dumb they do that rips you off. If you order a one topping pizza with a different topping on each side, like half pepperoni, half sausage, they charge you an extra $3. No other place does that. Ridiculous.
