Taco Rio - Harrison Hot Springs

The Portobello mushroom tacos at this restaurant are excellent. They offer many vegan options and have a great vegan set menu available.

I believe that was the best cauliflower taco I have ever eaten! The restaurant offers some vegan options but be sure to specify that everything must be vegan. My boyfriend ordered the Mexican rice which was cooked with chicken stock, but they kindly made a vegan version for him. This shows that they can accommodate vegans. If you order the burrito, be sure to mention this as it contains Mexican rice. This place is definitely worth the trip to Harrison and even better if you are already in the area, you must give it a try.

Great choices here. There are three veg fillings portobello, cauliflower, or kabocha squash and they have a vegan aioli too so can all be veganized. Didn’t try the portobello, but the kabocha was quite good, but the cauliflower is amazing. Highly recommended. We had the tacos but you can get it in a burrito or a bowl too. I also had the jalapeño margarita and it was perfect.

The food at this restaurant is tasty, especially the guacamole which has a spicy kick to it. However, the portion size is on the smaller side for the price of $9. Our vegan burrito initially came with cheese, but the server and cook quickly fixed the mistake. They even sent out a platter with "sorry" written in jalapeños, which was a cute touch. The prices are a bit high ($18 for 3 tacos), but the food is delicious and the server was attentive.
