La Unica Mexican Harrisburg

We have been to La Unica a few times. The food is okay but there are better places for Mexican around. Last Sunday we went to La Unica for dinner. Again, food was okay and our service was actually great. However today I happened to notice that the receipt was for two much more expensive entrees than we actually ordered. There were two of us and when my husband paid he just saw two drinks and two entrees and went ahead and paid, but the total should have been about $9 less. While not checking the bill more closely is on us, we will not be returning to La Unica.

Went here to celebrate a birthday and the service was great. They were patient with us since we were waiting on a couple of people to join who were running late. They sold us on a margarita tower and a pitcher! Thankful for their attentiveness. I got a burrito which wasn’t the greatest but I will be back to try different foods.

Not sure what happened to this place. The food was awful- the chips were very thick, the cream on the pollo fundido looked like baked on sour cream and the cheese sauce looked like melted and rehardened white american cheese. It made me sick. The only positive was the peach sangria. It took 10 minutes for someone to finally recognize us while we waited at the counter to pay. We won't be back.

We’ve been loyal customers to this location for nine years. Today was the first time we actually had a problem. I always order the same thing and I always order two salsas for myself and then usually one for each person at the table and mind you they are very small portions maybe 5 tablespoons of salsa in one small bowl. Today we had four people with us originally we had ordered four salsas, but the fourth one never came and my grandson needed it for his tacos. After asking three different times for the salsa, it was brought to our table with the waiter stating they were going to “charge us” for it. I have never been told that in the nine years that we’ve been eating there. When I asked what the limit was one of the waitresses said, it’s the discretion of the waitstaff which quickly told me this guy was pissed off having to go back and get the salsa that was originally ordered in the first place. I love La Unica , but I have heard over the years of their price gouging and their extra charges. This is my first experience with it and I’m not sure that I’ll ever go back to this location. I’m very disappointed because I love most of the staff at this. I could see if the salsa was in big bowls and people were excessively using it but it’s such a very small amount that is served. It’s ridiculous that they would even charge a customer for it.

Prices are astronomically expensive.. an ACP is $17?!?!?!? Waitress was SUPER SLOW, she would not even take our orders until she had completely finished another table and at the end she purposely held our check so she could check us out even though other staff was free to handle this. Didn't respect our time and the prices are way over priced, would never come back and would not recommend and to boot they were no where near busy when we dined and at the end I got to hear our waitress fuss at the hostess about not seating her tables. Unreal!
