Coho - Harlow

This is not my first review of COHO and probably won’t be my last. Mostly we visit here as a couple or with family and close friends. It is within easy walking distance from our home (so no risk with driving if we drink a little too much) and we always enjoy our food and the quality of service. However, just recently we have taken to holding our networking celebration meals here. We are a group of business people who meet fortnightly to share business experiences and promote each others business where we can. We are called Stansted Business Breakfast (club) , because we meet on a Friday morning at the Stansted Radisson Hotel. Last Wednesday the 13th December it was our Christmas dinner. There were 26 of us, members plus their partners, wives or friends. The largest group I have ever arranged with COHO. Any reservations I might have had over how this number would affect quality of delivery were totally unfounded. The quality of food, drinks and service remained exemplary. Jason, Louie (sorry if the spelling is incorrect) and the rest of the staff take a bow and thank you. I have had nothing but glowing feedback from my fellow members, they can’t wait until our next visit.

The venue is nice, the staff are brilliant and the food is great. What a nice find having moved close. Will defo come back!

We were early for lunch but they were not phased. They were so very welcoming. The restaurant and toilets! were sparkling clean. The menu was wide ranging and the food was really the best we have had in a long time. For a very fair price, two delightfully presented dishes were brought out. There was exactly the right amount of food on the plate, not skimped and not overloaded. We had smoked salmon to start and it was deliciously and then I had sea bass. It was so fresh and cooked to perfection. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they were so pleasant and the chefs certainly know their skill. It was such a lovely treat for my daughter and myself. I will try hard to bring more of my family even though it’s a little drive to get there, it’s worth it. Thank you guys, we had a wonderful time.

We had a mixed experience at this restaurant. The starters, chicken livers and mussels, were delicious. However, we were disappointed with the mains. The linguine with seafood turned out to be spaghetti hoops with tough calamari and unexpected mussels. The pork belly was average and the advertised side of mash with cabbage and bacon was actually just mashed cabbage with no bacon in sight. It seems like there may have been some incompetence in the kitchen. Despite the disappointing food, the service and ambience were good. It's a shame because the bread on the table was excellent. It may be time for the restaurant to reevaluate its offerings and quality control.

Our first visit to coho and why have we waited so long to come here !! The food was amazing, very reasonable prices and really friendly and welcoming staff, will definitely be back soon !!
