Contribuiți la feedbackI arranged a wake in their private room, which was perfect for a small gathering of up to 50 people. We ordered a buffet for 25 guests, but 40 ended up attending. The staff was quick to keep the buffet replenished, and they were very accommodating—nothing was too much trouble for them. The room opens up to a small semi-covered area. I chose menu option 1, and the food was freshly prepared.
I really enjoy Hunters as a venue. The staff were polite and generally helpful. I ordered a full English breakfast, which was mostly good. However, the toast was very white and slightly undercooked. The staff quickly addressed this, which I appreciated. The eggs were also a bit underdone, and the food wasn't very warm. One major complaint, though, was the state of the restroom. It was quite dirty, with the seat and inside and outside of the toilet needing attention. Additionally, the toilet doors looked grimy and definitely required a thorough cleaning with soap and disinfectant.
Absolutely dreadful. I arrived at 8:30 and was seated at a table, only to be informed (when I placed my order) that this area was “reserved for people ordering food” and my clients and I needed to move. We complied and relocated to a table that was filthy, with food remnants scattered everywhere on the floor and at nearby tables; it was clearly not cleaned at all—disgraceful. After that, I went to the restroom, which was also evidently in a state of disarray and hadn’t been cleaned. I ordered two large lattes and a large cappuccino for £9.00. An hour later, I placed the same order again, and it came to £9.30! What a disaster; I really wish we had left sooner. We’ve been visiting Hunters for our monthly meetings for years, and under the previous ownership, it was excellent—welcoming staff, great menu options, and a clean atmosphere. I will never return and wish them luck with their next hygiene inspection… Very disappointing overall.
I'm sorry to say that I will not be back...having written a positive review with the previous owners...I felt necessary to provide an updated review...at 830 in the morning it was clear that the cleaning from the day before had not been done, sticky table,food underneath, dust and crumbs on a condiment side board and bitter tasting coffee with a dirty spoon...the new menu is dire and unappealing... why fix what wasn't broken?...total 360 on standards,appeal and ambience....having been in on numerous occasions regularly over the last 2 years..I'm afraid my custom has been lost and I will not be recommending.
Really disappointed we used to visit Hunters regularly for a good, local cooked breakfast. I've made the unfortunate mistake of recommending this place twice since the establishment changed management on both occasions, everyone around the table had some sort of issue with their food, and I've been left feeling pretty embarrassed for suggesting the venue. Quality of food has plummeted, prices have skyrocketed, staff desperately in need of some customer service training. Really hope they sort out their teething problems before their reputation goes down the toilet.
