Lian Su Shenghuo Guan Lián Sù Shēng Huó Guǎn

It was a real pleasure to find this (via Baidu Map) right near our AirBnB Square. Not far from the main bus stop Flood Memorial, the Cross-Rover cable car and Zhaolin Park, it was a soothing sanctuary in the midst of the hectic and masses of the ice and snow festival. It is elegantly furnished, with a very quiet ambience and a beautiful music. The food is exquisite. It costs a bit more than some other options, but the quality, atmosphere and service all make it great value. The price is also very good from a western perspective. The restaurant is all vegetarian, so even if you are struggling with the language, you can at least side worry about hidden meat products. The menu has photos to choose you. The staff made us very welcome despite our limited mandarin. The food includes a range of faux meat as well as straight vegetable-based dishes. If I remembered the names, I would recommend everything we ordered! The crispy fish was especially excellent. There was also a fabulous sweet and sour dish. We have eaten there twice in January 2020. There are three levels, including semi-private group tables, hot pot tables and a business that sells ethically produced clothing and other goods. They also sell their own sauces and some faux meat. There is a bus stop nearby (view of the pedestrian crossing). The sign at the entrance contains English text and opening hours.

My friend and I were in Harbin for only four days and we made sure to eat at this restaurant three times! We couldn't resist coming back! The food is absolutely incredible, the restaurant is cozy and quiet, and the staff is friendly and lovely! Each time we returned, we tried different dishes and each one was better than the last! This restaurant is truly incredible and one that we would travel to Harbin just to eat at!
