Nuccio's - Harahan

Recently, my parents took me out for dinner, and as an Italian who loves Italian cuisine, I was excited. A few years back, I decided to embrace a whole food-based vegan lifestyle for various reasons, which often complicates dining out. However, I took the initiative to write down all the ingredients I could eat from the menu and handed it to the chef, encouraging him to be as creative as he liked with just those items. To my delight, I ended up having the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant that night! It was truly one of the most delicious Italian dishes I've ever tasted. I was so grateful that the chef accommodated me with a meal from the menu that I could enjoy. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for him! If you love Italian food and are vegan, I highly recommend visiting The Happy Italian! They truly made this vegan Italian very happy!

My husband and I absolutely love Happy Italian. The food goes far beyond just pizza—though the pizza is truly exceptional. We don’t go anywhere else for pizza! The owner is committed to using top-quality ingredients. The Italian platter specials are fantastic; this is NOT your average restaurant. Thank you to Lenny and Sand Gavin for the many wonderful meals. No nonsense here, just great attentive service.

This place is fantastic! The food is excellent, and Chef Lenny is outstanding. My family loves dining here because of the welcoming atmosphere and delicious dishes. The Italian cuisine is among the best I've ever experienced. The friendly staff is dedicated to providing great customer service!

Food Italian (my favorite) is very difficult for anyone who has a gluten allergy. However, the boss at The Happy Italian is always keen to prepare gluten-free dishes for me every time we go (what is one or twice a week now)!!! I love watching him prepare FRESH ingredients for every dish! It is amazing and so is food, gluten-free, vegan, classic Italian dishes and seafood.

Really good Italian restaurant. You can build your pizza and there are different crust, sauce and cheese options. The small one is still plenty for 1 hungry person or 2 not so hungry people. My husband had a sandwich and other than wanting a bit more sauce, he like it and he is very picky. Wish they were in Metairie instead of Harahan, and it is easy to miss because it is in a small strip center. Worth the drive and the prices are pretty reasonable. I highly recommend it
