I cannot recommend a restaurant that shows no concern for a rock in their food. When brought to their attention, I was merely told that I was wrong. I definitely bit down on a rock in the apple strudel-pictures provided. Less important issues (that won't break a tooth) were that they didnt have enough glassware so the wine ordered with dinner came out when dinner was already eaten. Also, after an extended wait, I was told entrées would be out in a moment, only to be informed about 10 minutes later that they were out of the entrée that I ordered about 45 minutes prior. Many things went wrong and they could have been overlooked, but when considered in totality, my experience was a disaster.
We ordered in hopes of getting great German food, similar to what we ate in Germany. This is not the place. The schnitzel was greasy and tasteless. The pretzel and cheese dip was good but that was all. The desserts were terrible. Teramisu had hard Lady fingers and tasted on only whipped cream, no marscapone cream. Strudel was nothing like Germany. The apples were hard and pastry was hard. Plus there's no tiramisu in Germany. Cheese spaetzle needed onions caramelized it was just spaetzle in too much cheese. Schnitzel was covered in a tasteless, nasty gravy. We threw everything in the garbage. Overall not worth 142.00 for a family of 3. Update 3 hours later : since eating my husband's stomach has been upset. Hopefully tums will help
When I walked in, the smell made me immediately think of a Kneipe in Germany. I liked that because I hadn’t smelled that smell in a long time. Now to the food! The food was ok. I know it’s difficult to recreate good tasting German food but much of the sauces we had there were just not very good. The Gulasch was just meat and a very light sauce that seemed to be bound with too much corn starch. The Jagerschnitzel also had some strange weak tasting sauce on it. I expected it brown and with lots of good spices. The Leberknödel soup was salty and had just a bunch of broken up liver dumpling pieces. The only thing that was ok were the Ruladen and the Sample Plate. Obviously, I can’t say much about anything else since I didn’t try them but would like to go back for a few dishes I saw on the Menü. I was really excited to go there but am not sure if that’s going to be my go to German spot in the future. When I think of schnitzel and sauce, I’m thinking flavorful and rich taste. Maybe the owner needs to sit down and reevaluate the food she is serving. I really want to have people leave there smiling because the food was delicious and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing!
Excellent German food at very reasonable prices. Family owned and operated. Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Pork Schnitzel
