Contribuiți la feedbackWas delivered by ground to Arizona in 115 heat. Sent email indicating frosting was liquefied, put in in fridge, less than 24 hours later the chocolate cupcake tasted like mold. I informed them of this. I wanted nothing in return(chocolate companies do not shop to AZ in the summer). The response was this was ordered via Hickory Farms please reach out to them. This tells me they do not care about their quality only quantity. Funny thing is they probably got their start up money on quality..
A clever and delicious option for gifts. The cupcakes arrived on the date requested.
Wickedly Disappointing Cupcakes (and disgustingly dry! My MIL sent a two-pack as a surprise treat, which we received yesterday. I had seen these somewhere online, and thought it would be fun to try someday, so I was jazzed these unexpectedly appeared on my doorstep. Based on the thought that went into the packaging, I thought we were in for a spectacular treat…(spoiler: complete opposite! .I tried the key lime one. The “cake” portion consists of literal crumbs in a layer that are so stale, they seem either freezer burned or like they’re the days old leftover shavings from leveling a real cake. The filling layer had good flavor but was far too thin to compensate for the chokingly dry crumb layer that made up the bulk of the jar. Finally, there’s a blob of way too sweet and too thick frosting on the top of the dry crumb in the jar (all sticking to the lid , which in terms of consistency and oily mouth feel is a close cousin to nasty store bought frosting in a can.I don’t know if I received a old batch or what, but there is no way I would purchase these for someone else after having tried one, and would not spend even 50 cents on what we were given. With $5 shipping, the cost works out to a whopping $14 per cupcake (before tax to ship per their site.I’m sad that such an enormous carbon footprint proportionate to the volume or frivolousness of what was sent was truly a waste, as the product is not worth it even in terms of a food experience for the resources it is packaged in. I don’t know how this company manages to stay in business if this is the product they are putting out.Afterward, I read some online reviews for a couple of minutes to see if maybe what we were given was an aberration. Nope! One woman described the cake as similar to “eating dirt,” sounds peculiar but it’s actually quite spot-on for what I was given! Several other reviews commented on the frosting being chokingly thick and sweet, so it’s not just my palate. One other review said store bought cupcakes are better, and it’s one hundred percent true (no contest . Support your local bakery instead.
Disappointed with the customer service. They screwed up our order. Sent it out late and then the cupcakes were not great. The frosting completely separated from the cake. Will not order again…
After I saw Yelp friend Denyce M. 's review, first of all, I just knew by seeing the name of the place that it had to be in MA and I was right :D Then I thought to myself, I have to try this . But first, we arranged to send some cupcakes to my grandkids and the family. I have to say the gift ordering was painless! In fact, I wish more companies made it this easy. It was a matter of giving the company an email address of the recipient, then paying for the gift. What the company then does is send an email to the recipient then tell them to pick which flavors they want plus when they want the package to get there. Plus, supply their address. We had let our son in law know that the email was on the way and he quickly pounced on it. The package came when they wanted it to come. I asked for feedback and they all really liked the cupcakes. Okay...good. Now, we 'll order some for ourselves. We each got 2 apiece. I chose 1 birthday cake and one salted caramel. My husband chose 1 key lime and 1 whole lotta lemon. The cupcakes are sent overnight. If we wanted them on ice, that was an extra $15 but since summer wasn 't here yet, we didn 't get the ice. The cupcakes held up well. As for the flavors the birthday cake was well flavored and moist. However, for me anyway, eating it in one sitting would have been too much. I put the leftovers in the fridge and ate them the next day. The salted caramel was a let down as I tasted no salt. At least, it wasn 't overly sweet. My husband found the key lime to not have much flavoring. He didn 't taste any lime until he got near the bottom. Also, he wished the lemon one had more flavor. While these cupcakes are pricey, remember that the shipping and handling is built into the price. The mother and daughter who founded the company appeared on Shark Tank. Kevin O 'Leary (aka Mr. Wonderful bought into their company and gets 40 cents per cupcake sold. Their main office is in Hanover, MA but they opened up a spot in the Quincy Market in Boston. Kevin O 'Leary was there to sell the 1 millionth cupcake. Here is a short video of the event: Would we order from them again? Yes, we 're willing to give them another try. And, yes, we will send them as gifts to others again. They are quite unique and I 'm curious to try some other flavors.
