Lage: schön in der Altstadt HannoversAtmosphäre: urig, viel Holz, dunkel, recht gemütlichService: sehr freundliche und zuvorkommend BedienungGetränke: Bier schmeckt gut und passt preislichEssen: 1x den gebeizten Lachs auf Rösti für 10,50€. Schmeckte gut, war aber nichts herausragendes. Preislich etwas zu teuer (eher Vorspeisengröße, man wird davon nicht satt).2x Grillteller für 18,90€ - und das war eine Frechheit. Der Grillteller bestand aus einem Rinder-, einem Schweine- und einem Putensteak, die extrem klein waren und auch nicht besonders gut schmeckten. Dann zwei Würstchen, Betonung auch „-chen“, denn die waren mickrig klein. Ein Speckstreifen, der auch nicht besonders groß war. Als Beilage ein Salat (war in Ordnung) und Pommes bzw. Bratkartoffeln. Die beiden Beilagen waren geschmacklich lecker, aber die Portionsgröße war lachhaft.Fazit: Service sehr nett, aber Preis-Leistung (zumindest für den Grillteller) ist nicht vertretbar. 18,90€ pro Person und der Grillteller würde nicht mal Kinderbäuche voll machen. Keine Empfehlung!

I visited this restaurant during a recent stay in Hannover together with my husband and a German friend. Initial impression was poor - when we said we wanted to eat, we were pointed to the upstairs dining area, but once I made it clear that I could not manage the stairs, there was some discussion amongst the staff and we were offered a table in the Gute Stube - a sort of 'snug' at the rear of the ground floor. The room was delightfully decorated with various memorabilia.The building has originally been a brewery, but now serves a selection of good beers - our friend and the waitress guided our choice and I sampled two very different, but very tasty beers.My husband ate currywurst - his favourite German dish, our friend had herrings and I had a pork Haxe - learning later that Haxe is the roast form of Eisbein and both are pork knuckle (but lamb is a frequent alternative).The food was good and tasty. There was no pressure on us to leave the establishment once we had eaten.It probably helped that we speak German and were with a German friend, but I cannot fault this establishment and would happily eat there again.

We only stayed in Hannover for one day/night, but we were glad we stopped here for dinner. We sat outside, which appeared clean and orderly. The service was prompt, and even though the waitress wasn't fluent in English, it was evident that she was trying hard. She laughed with us, and even gave great tips regarding where to visit that evening. Delicious food with large portions!

Went here with a few colleagues for an evening meal. We ordered among other Schweinehaxe and steak. All meals taste excellent. Only point for complain was the somewhat slow service.. But I can recommend this place to anyone interested in genuine German food..
