We absolutely adore the Hancock House Hotel; it’s always a must-visit (or stay) whenever we're in the area. Last night, my wife and I had a delightful dinner there. We sat at a high-top table in the bar, where we received excellent service from Sheri. (They also offer seating in their beautifully decorated dining room.) The food was exceptional. I ordered the meatloaf dinner, and it was so fresh that it practically fell apart on my fork. My wife had the pot roast and couldn't stop praising it either. I highly recommend this restaurant!
What a fantastic place with wonderful people! The mountain cabin is exceptional, and it's a must-visit at least once. Rooms: 5/5.
Had lunch here, outstanding soup. Hand cut French fries were less than desirable. Greasy, soft and cold. Soup I will do again but not the fries. Also this meal was in the tavern not the dining room.Food drinks: Stopped for lunch only.
I went to the buffet breakfast for mothers day. I brought my mother and her friend, Upon arrival we were not greeted. I had to clean off our table to sit down because where my mother wanted to sit wasnt clean and after waiting for someone to come cleIan it I finally did it myself, I had to ask the waitress to wait on us it was obvious they were under staffed or the waitress was inexperienced, I had to get silverware and napkins for our table because the bus girl was busy doing other tables with no one sitting at them,,, lol. The food was cold and the French toast looked like bread pudding. I tipped the waitress very well upon leaving because she was friendly and sympathetic. The place is beautiful and very large, I would go back again to give it another try because the waitress and bus girl were very sweet and I think it was just a bad day for them,,, and the place is gorgeous it's breath taking with that country feeling,,, my suggestion would be to make French toast with whole slices of bread instead of pieces, don't put so much out at once, (so it stays warm or keep a lid on it) make some sausage biscuits with gravy to go with your country theme, and hire more staff for such occasions,
