Contribuiți la feedbackI went to Cowfish for the first time with my wife on a Friday night and we both agreed it would not be our last. You can book a table online, which is what I would suggest doing. The ambiance is amazing, you're right on the water. There are multiple rooms and outdoor seating as well. I had a Mezcal cocktail and it was very well balanced. We ordered a dozen oysters, which were on the small side. The species and harvest location was not specified, which is kind of puzzling given the caliber of this establishment. We also ordered the clam chowder, which was fantastic. For entrees, my wife ordered a salmon with risotto special, which she loved. I ordered the New York strip, which was great, although it was slightly overcooked. I ordered medium rare and it came out medium, a mistake I'm willing to live with but at an establishment with this prestige and price tag I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed. All in all, it was a mostly positive dining experience. I would give Cowfish another shot at earning that 5th star the next time I'm in town. Parking: Valet service was complementary and mandatory.
The view was perfect on the upstairs patio. The local oysters were amazing! The server was very attentive and sweet!
I joined a few of my dining partners out in Hampton Bays for Lunch at Cowfish. Wow, I had forgotten how far Hampton Bays is from Western Suffolk, where I live. I did not take the longest drive there, though, as 1 person came from Wantagh, and 2 came from Port Jeff. The rest of the group were from East of Moriches, so their trek out there was minimal. But anyhow... The food..... Out of the 10 of us, not one person complained about the food.. The choices ranged from Crab cake sandwich, Tuna, Rueben, Blackened fish, Caesar Salad and a Burger. There were remarks by table about how good their food was. I had the Burger, and I 'm glad I did. The menu stated that they use Certified Angus Beef for their Burger meat. Maybe it 's just me and my tastebuds, but it was one of the best Certified Angus Beef meats that I have ever tasted. It had that earthy taste that I enjoy, and a bit of salinity, which is a nice offset to the earthiness of the meat. It was as close to a perfect Medium rare, as you could get.. The Gruyere cheese I had with it, was great.. One of my favorite cheeses, for a burger. The bun was also one of the best buns I 've had in a long time.. they butter the inside, btw, which added to the flavor of the Burger. I 'd rank this Burger up there in my mythical Top 20 . It 's not in my Top Tier of Burgers, but it 's pretty close... Considering I had 83 burgers in less than 2 years, that is a good placing. The fries were the Shoe string type. .. They were good.. Nice and crispy. Not my favorite, but completely acceptable fries. The service was great.... Our Server, Dannelle, was as professional as can be; fast, efficient, and very pleasant. She handled our table of 10 without any problem. The setting of Cowfish is second to none. With the Shinnecock Canal as the backdrop, the marina across the way, the Bay off to the South, it reeks of what makes Long Island an alluring place in the Summer time. Even on the cloudy day we were there, it was still beautiful. Parking is plentiful, and, if you wish, they have Valet parking. A bit hinky getting into the parking lot from the main road, but once you do it, it 's a breeze.. Drive slow driving down through the alley, to the parking lot, as it is narrow, and a two way street.. Definitely recommended, highly. July 10th, Cowfish, Hampton Bays Peace!!!
Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. Food and drinks were delivered quickly. The food was just average and we ordered a lot. 2 people out of the 9 of us enjoyed our meals. That’s fine. It was a lot of money for mediocre food but we were all together. We had a 5:15 pm reservation which included our 2 granddaughters. It was so humid out and they put us outdoors upstairs with all other families with kids. They stuck us all in one spot in direct sun. 3 out of 5 fans working. Just because we had children with us we felt they wanted us out of the way. Obviously, they did not want us in the air conditioned parts of the restaurant as not to disturb the other diners. The waitress apologized that the sun was beating down on us and pulled shades down that just kept hitting us in the back of the heads as the wind blew. We made the reservation weeks in advance. I was very disappointed that the restaurant treated families like that. I have been there numerous times with girlfriends and we were always seated in the air conditioned downstairs section of the restaurant. Just disappointed in the lack of attention to families with young children. There should not be separate sections for families with young children. If adults do not want to be seated near children then stay home. We are entitled to the same treatment as all other paying customers.
Beautiful spot for al fresco dining on the marina with picturesque grounds great drinks, good food also, perfect spot to bring a date for a special meal
