Smitty's Better Burger - Hampton

I haven't been to Smitty's in years but I am DELIGHTED to see that they are still open!  I left Hampton in 1988 and Smitty's was awesome then; got married in 2001 to a guy worth sharing Smitty's with and they were STILL awesome. Isn't it nice to be able to visit a place that's been in business for so long, eat for so cheap ... unless it's changed, I do wish they had a larger parking lot ... used to hold about 20 cars I think.  <br/ <br/ Sorry some folks have had bad experiences, but gee folks, don't you have a bad experience at least once everywhere you go?!  Smitty's makes THE BEST BETTER BURGER and Crinkle fries around.  I wish they would open up a place here in Richmond!  Hang in there Smitty's you're doing a great job!  <br/ <br/ If  you visit or move to Hampton, check them out for yourself ... I don't think you will be disappointed.

Great Food. I went on recommendation. So worth it. Really good food. Fast and efficient, reminded me of Danny's Hot Dog's in Norfolk. Try them out.

Cool Daddy-O!. Smitty 's Better Burger was really cool. When you first pull up you kind of think; 'man did I just jump back to the 1950 's? ' It 's got that nostalgic feel to it. Thanks to E 's review below I had an idea of the ordering routine. I backed into my spot and turned my headlights on. Sure enough a Car Hop Server came right over, very friendly and really efficient. She took my order: A Smitty 's Super Burger, a French Fry (Crinkle Cut), they have the option of Waffle Fries too. I also ordered a Diet Coke. My food was delivered to my car in about 5 minutes. I paid $8.19 for lunch plus a little tip for my Car Hop. It was well worth it. My Burger was hot, juicy, and packed full of flavor. If these patties are frozen you can 't tell. They were seasoned and cooked on a flat top expertly. The Bun was soft and held up very well to all the juice, and condiments. The toppings were all cut fresh and were crispy. Great pickles I must say! The fries were piping hot and salted, they tasted great, frozen or not, Crinkle Cuts fried right are hard to beat. My Diet Coke was icy and had perfect syrup to soda mix. I posted pics above. When I was done I turned my lights on and my Car Hop came right over and took my tray and thanked me for coming. What a great experience. If you in Hampton and you get a chance pop over to Smitty 's Better Burger, it 's just a good time with good food! Thanks Smitty 's after 50 years in business you guy 's still got it!

Cheap Eats. Smitty's is a local icon not too far from LAFB known really because the food prices have remained low for years. Most items fall in between $2-$6 with an assortment of deep fried and grilled treats. It's drive up fast food where the wait staff come out to your car side. It's not the greatest fast food, but everything is unhealthily satisfying. And yes their burgers are better than some of the more popular chains.

Satisfying people since 1956. Smitty's has been around since 1956, and it is still here because everyone loves it. They have an awesome drive in menu with a wide variety so you can't go wrong. <br/ <br/ When you pull up, turn on your headlights when you need assistance and the car hops will come over and take your order or get you something. It is customary to tip the car hops.
