I purchased the apple cidar donuts, expected them to be better. Heard lots of good things from others that have had their pies. Disappointing. The donuts were kind of dry and not very soft. Pricey also, they were 2 for $3. It was as if they were purchased at a store and repackaged. The people that work there were pleasant and atmosphere was pretty cool. They had lots of things for the kids to do outside.
One of those hidden NJ gems, Penza’s pies are the best in the state. The atmosphere on the farming property is early 1900s movie posters and nostalgia mixed with Ms. Penza’s kindness and love for her craft. She is super busy, yet takes the time to tell you everything you’d want to know about your potential pie purchase. From ricotta to pumpkin and back to apple with cherry, you can’t pick a bad pie. My personal favorite is not a pie at all, but one of the many side desserts she makes to compliment the wide assortment of fruit/cheese goodness. Ms. Penza even gave me an extra “Penza’s Pies” sticker that I now have on my guitar case at home…because she’s a pie rockstar!!!
Delicious pastries like pies and donuts. The activities there are a little expensive for what we got. The pie is also pretty expensive. The lady who makes the pie is pretty mean but everyone else seemed nice.
Amazing pies- both savory and dessert. The owner is so nice! All of their products are great. Not at all near where I live but any time I'm traveling close by I have to stop.
