Zel's Roast Beef - Hammond

Zel's is a good chain for Chicago classics like roast beef sandwiches, hot dogs and chili cheeses. Your Brat beef sandwiches are pretty good that attracts many customers. The hot dogs are Nathan's brand that is not my favorite hot dog. Covered in her chili, but it tasted fabulous. They use the Wiener Sandwich-Backs for their other sausages. My favorite item from here is Chili cheese fries. It is crushed in hot cheese and its special chili sauce, which is far tastier than other places. This local chain manages to keep their prices down and still good food in the process. For chili and all things beef, Zel's is a good choice for a fast meal.

This is one of my favorite types of roast beef. I ordered the Bratbeef-Deluxe meal, which comes with medium fries and a medium Green River drink. I really enjoy the fries and the Green River! The meal costs $10, but it's definitely worth it! You can also add cheese and peppers to your sandwich. I'm sure I'll be returning, as I've been there many times before.

I’ve been dining at Zel’s for over 20 years, and I truly appreciate the straightforwardness of the menu, which is one of the things I love about this place. The roast beef is brilliant, the onion rings are delicious, and the signature Super Zel Burger is incredibly tasty! Make sure to stop by for your next lunch—you won’t be disappointed!

I do want to give a small word of caution regarding the Au-Jus sauce. It's essentially the drippings from cooking the beef, and while it's not bad—actually a great dip for the sandwich—it's not your typical reduction. Overall, though, I highly recommend this place!
