Grand Central Hotel - Hamilton

We received a recommendation to try out this pub for a meal when we arrived at Lake Hamilton Motor Village and Caravan Park, and it turned out to be fantastic advice. After enjoying a few cold beers from their impressive selection, we decided to order two dishes from the kitchen - the French lamb cutlets and the chicken seafood. I went with the lamb cutlets and they were absolutely delicious. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. My friend also thoroughly enjoyed his chicken dish - it was top quality.

My older mother gets there for lunch today, will not come back because my complaint about my mother meal was treated as a joke by the cook and young in the kitchen.

I had the braised pork belly which was delicious, but I wished it came with some vegetables. Two of us ordered the lamb shank with bacon and they both enjoyed it. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly. We were too full for dessert, but they happily packed it to go. The lemon tart was fantastic. Overall, a great meal on our way to lunch in Robe, South Australia.

Normally on our visits to Hamilton we have lunch at The Grand Central Hotel. The food and service is usually excellent We visited Hamilton recently and decided on our ususal lunch It was 11.50am and I wanted to order our meal. I was told by...an employee who was folding aprons behind the counter we are not open for meals until 12pm Okay I said can we order our meal and we 'll wait until the kitchen opens for the meal to be prepared No was the reply , in a very disinterested fashion. My reply was okay we 'll go elsewhere to eat. Appalling service. Management if this is your policy, take a good hard look at very poor service. If this is your employees personal policy, then some training in customer relations is sorely needed

My husband and I dined here for dinner. I had eye fillet wrapped in bacon with mushroom sauce $38 and he had scotch fillet with prawns and scallops on top $46. Well presented and perfectly cooked. Unassuming pub with a good menu.
