Ye Olde Squire Upper James - Hamilton

I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place in 2019. Afterwards visits were also very good, the food was delicious and the service was fast. My last visit last week wasn't the same. The service was good, but the food tasted like it... had been sitting for days and was slightly heated in a microwave. I have no idea what happened. Maybe another cook? And of course, the price was scary, like all the restaurants.

Hubby and I stopped here for lunch. What a nice restaurant. I had Chicken Elizabeth...it was divine and hubby had Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding Bowl (Steak) and a Kids Brownie for Dessert thank Kendra for...Your great service and recommendations

Beautiful pub atmosphere, we were just early enough to avoid waiting for a table, really friendly staff, menu with elections loaded for almost any desire. Food was abundant, hot and delicious. I'll go back soon.

My friend and I went to the restaurant for lunch in mid-January. I made the mistake of ordering a glass of wine without checking the wine list. The waiter brought me one glass, and then my friend ordered two more. We were surprised when the bill came to $13 per glass. We don't eat out often, but we didn't realize the prices were so high. After this experience, we don't plan on returning to this restaurant.

During the Covid pandemic, I have ordered takeout from Squires multiple times. Despite usually being a dine-in restaurant, they have excelled at providing takeout service. The food was consistently amazing with environmentally friendly packaging, made to order, on time, and with polite service.
