Contribuiți la feedbackGeneral: An extended weekend in Hamburg and the necessary Greek had to be nominated in an elaborate selection procedure. From the three to the internal discussion, the Kouros prevailed. The footpath of our Domizil European Court was decisive. The map is unfortunately not set on the homepage [here link] and in this respect we have accepted a risk. However, as the reviews on Tripadvisor are usually positive, we have not received too much risk. “Kouros” in the ancient Greeks were statues of naked young people, but afterwards or other decoration Follcon you see forgiven in the Kouros. The restaurant is very thirsty, designed for well-maintained bourgeoisie and is located in the wealthy, old-bourgeois or fully enriched part of St. Georg an der Alster. The Hotel Atlantic is just a few hundred meters away and you have an association and right: The Wirt Spyros Kyvranoglou explains Udo Lindenberg as a regular guest on his homepage. The city magazine Prinz thinks that Kouros is only Udo’s “Notgrieche”. But I give to the host believer, because directly above me a gift from Udo for the host from his scenic oeuvre “Olymp – Hold on – I ́m come” hanging on the wall the photo of this funny picture in comic style that I cannot imagine for real reasons. The Kouros were fully booked and the audience, as expected, was bourgeois and somewhat advanced at the age. Some guests were kindly welcomed as regular guests. We had the Touristatus exclusively for us. In addition to classics, Kouros offers a slightly increased diet that is suitable for location and ambience and is therefore also suitable for the special occasion. Culinary flights must not be expected. The price level in the Kouros can be explained by the situation and the claim of the host to be lifted from the standard Greeks; for the guest, however, this leads to a critical price-performance ratio that I would like to pay only for weak three stars. Service: In the service we experienced the Wirt Spyros Kyvranoglou and a medium Griechin. Dude, she could be the host's wife. Both in white with Kouro's apron. We served mainly the Griechin friendly, but without conversation; on questions answered. In the counter, a young woman took care of the beverage orders. In the bottling restaurant we felt the waiting times so pleasant and although we were with the first guests, the kitchen contradicted the temptation to work quickly. Very lonely we found the great glass ice cooler that the host brought for our wines; a premiere in my Greek career! Last but not least, 4 stars for service, the drinks prices are happy to be covered. The tapped Veltins 0.25 l comes to 3,00 € so to 3,60 € for my reference size 0.3 l! . A bottle of Selters 0.75 l is on the map with 6.90 €. The cheapest open wines start at €5.20 for 0.2 l. Remarkably the selection of Greek noble plants that the host should import directly. The Cremant 0.1 l as aperitif came with 9,20 € and my very esteemed Retsina Kechribari 0.5 l demanded the tribute of 12,80 € standard Greeks by 8,00 €, most recently in Omega in Darmstadt 7,50 €. Eat: I introduce two photos of the standard card to save me a long story. However, it does not agree with the map shown in the restaurant. When compared with my bons, I must note that the map contains historical prices in the appendix to which the prices in the restaurant are now €13,90 instead of €11,80! However, you can see the photographed map that, in addition to the classics, high-quality meat dishes are represented and the “Stamp” is also included in Kouros. On the recommendation card also Exoten from the Greek view such as tuna fish tar with marinated ginger and wasabi 11,80 € or tuna fillet with Teriyaky sauce 21,90 € and "Udonysos Udo Lindenberg panic plate" with Skrei-Winter cable Jaufilet, salmon fillet and shrimp for 22,80 €. On tables good pepper mills, a fruity olive oil and Fleur de Sel from Crete. Served on high quality white design porcelain. On one plate only unusual four slightly softer, warm rolls with rye content. A dip of olive oil and Fleur de Sel, which our operator arranged in the same way. This is no longer original, but since the quality of the three players was high, the start was successful. Then the appetizer plate for 13,90 € and extra the feta for 6,20 €. Very carefully to play, see photo dressed. I liked the eleven mezes of the strong, solid sheep cheese, the well seasoned chopsteak and fried oyster mushrooms. Otherwise, the spicy hand of the kitchen is more reserved, such as Tsatsiki, Tarama, sheep cheese cream or the huge salad. For 20,00 € the starter course was manageable, but with the oil rolls to a sufficient extent. In Kouros, organic meat is processed and accordingly it is called “Gyros biologically pure” for proud €14.90, which my constant companion has chosen. A Klacks Tsatsiki and three rose cabbages on a track from above animated Burpure. My constant companion chose Pommes. My grill plate St. Georg had built the gyro as a base, crowned by a bifteki and limited by a light mustard sauce. Very good the bifteki with its clear garlic and Mediterranean herbs. To Gyros I noticed a very mixed impression. It wasn't cooked at all. Some pieces rather dry and old, while others hardly cooked over the raw material. As a supplement, I had a large part of rice in precise cylinder shape and easily fed with the good must sauce. A small leaf salad with an olive oil Senfvinaigrette completes the grill dishes. So little something on the noble plates above the average section and a gyro that pulls the rating down. At 3.25 stars, I want to turn it. Ambience: The Kouros is housed in an old building with a corner entrance, so there are two window rows, one with Alsterblick, which is not free due to vegetation. The ceilings are high and like the walls brightly held with holding stucco edges. The ceiling lights with large, round yellow screens offer a flattening, but sufficient light. The floor has a wooden floor look. The black chair backs offer the only color contrast at the otherwise white tables. The "Deco" is limited to two broad framed and illuminated images; one of them certainly from Udo, to the second I did not respect. The few photos on the homepage show that the tables are placed in a small restaurant. The distance between the two tables is small. I know I don't like such a bottle. It was probably the luck of the very early reservation that we got a window table on the Alster side and therefore only had a neighboring table. There was probably room for mother and daughter, and unlike my fear it was possible to speak normally loud without disturbing his neighbours or becoming an involuntary witness of the neighboring conversation. This was certainly supported by the noise. This was moderate from the volume, but one could hear another reference to Udo because at the beginning Udomusi ran. The tables were sufficiently and finely covered as such. At the window we had the comfort of the additional shelf on the wide window bench. Cleanliness: Very well maintained. The wet room for the Lord is covered with sufficient locating spaces, bright, modern and clean. The monastery of women was found very close. Udo: Much Udo in criticism. I'm not a fan of Udo Lindenberg from my music taste. The person with her honest causality and her crumbs tastes all the time, but I find sympathy. He made it a Hamburger original!
Our favorite smell. The atmosphere is great. You're welcome. The dishes are best quality, which is not always the case in Greek restaurants. Especially recommended is the Saganaki with forest honey. Dreaming!!! Always enjoy!
I've been at Kouro's restaurant for years. The dishes are of high quality and are not too high for Hamburg relations. Kouros is the best Greek in Hamburg. However, if you expect an oily kitchen with large plates full of cheap meat, it is wrong. Kouros offers modern Greek cuisine Mediterranean and for enjoyable evenings.
Here you get excellent food, which is served a very appealing shrimp. This starts with the fresh, warm rolls to the starter and ends with the classic Ouzo. The service is also excellent and accommodating. The fact that you get the whole thing at an affordable price for the Alsterlage is certainly exceptional.
Half an hour before the evening we were allowed to sit and order. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food is nicely dressed and right from the serving.
