Good Friend China - Hamburg

Surprisingly, it is a quiet Chinese restaurant. The food is good. It has a lot of Shanghai local snacks and dim sum. From the name in the menu, it could be authentic. Will come back later and find out the truth.

It will be our little secret. The food was Fantastic! I went with a group of friends for Dim Sum. The stand out items for me were the wonton soup (home made wontons) and the broth was delicious. Also the home made soup dumplings. If you have a big group it's recommended to call ahead and pre-order the food on Friday for Sunday Dim-Sum.

Many (or i should even use the word most Chinese retaurants are serving only the German Chiense food. but this one is definitely an outlier (exception . The cook stick to his own way of cooking and is not the person to comprise even to the modern style of Shanghai food. Here I mean, as Shanghai is developing very fast during the last 20 years, the food of shanghai is also developing very fast, during which the traditional taste of Shanghai is mixed with many other incredients. The cook of this restaurant is an old Shanghai guy who sticks the taste of Shanghai to that in the 1980s/1990s and obvious different from the modern restaurant in Shanghai. I used to live in the area of Shanghai for more than 20 years and really like it. but that might not be the taste of anybody else
