Arcadia Garden Centre - Hambleton

Nice food in fact the burger and a few chips were very good. However, prices were disappointingly high, especially over £3 for a half pint bottle of soft drink. Worst of all, all the crockery has that gritty feel that means they were washed in a dishwasher that was full of food residue leaving everything with a thin layer of other people's leftovers. Frankly disgusting, I had to clean my tea up with my shirt sleeve to make it fit to use. The second cup of tea came with the same quality cup :

I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The front of house staff made a mistake with our order and insisted it had already been made, even though we pointed out the error. The supervisor also refused to fix the mistake and did not acknowledge their fault. The staff were rude and unapologetic. It was an appalling experience.

Menu suggests , nay, states a Bloomer comes with a particular meal. When I got it, it was some brown bread SLICES. Refused to accept the replacement and asked for another meal, no answer, so said I will have a refund please. Lots of tutting and oooing and aaahing eventually after my becoming very firm, they agreed a refund. Then the manager doing the refund just walked away into the kitchen. So.............. had to get stroppy. We as a family used this place regularly not the past tense. Not again never.

Went for a coffee and cake with my Mam, came to over £15 for 2 coffees and 2 pieces of cake, which we thought was a bit steep (nearly £5 for a small piece of cake! Coffee wasn't very nice, flat white more like a milky small latte and cake was bland and tasteless, and I left most of mine. As we left we could see numerous tables that had plates that looked untouched full of food that other diners had just left. Won't be going again.

We ordered at 12:21pm and 30 minutes later, still hadn't received the food. We went to enquire about it and was told that it was just coming. 15 minutes later, it still hadn't arrived. Finally, after voicing concerns, 30 minutes, it arrived. It's obvious the order had been forgotten about, even though we had been told it hadn't. Absolutely disgraceful service. Will not go here again. Quite sad as the food is okay. It definitely needs a shake up in the staff. It wasn't short staffed.
