The Lucky Penny - Halifax

Charming, intimate and inviting. I received a $10 gift certificate at a Yelp event, which initially brought me to Lucky Penny, but I am so glad it did because this place is absolutely delightful. Situated on bustling Quinpool Road, the cafe was bustling with activity as well. I had to pause to take in the cozy atmosphere. The elegant floral wallpaper provides a lovely backdrop to the rustic shelves adorned with mason jars, cups, mugs, and other cute trinkets. They have a small selection of freshly baked goods, with only one vegan option - a delicious homemade granola bar. However, they offer soy, coconut, and almond milk for drinks, and can veganize several menu items like sandwiches. The staff was friendly and overall, I was very impressed with this charming little cafe. Lucky Penny offers something unique to Halifax in comparison to other cafes in town.

I always have the best service when I grab a coffee at Lucky Penny and the coffee is good too. I just stopped in for a couple of coffees this morning and the person working was so lovely and funny. Lucky Penny is a neighbourhood gem and I hope it's around forever and ever!

Delicious coffee and eats, super friendly staff, cozy atmosphere great for chats with friends or working for an hour or so. This is a place of warmth and whimsy. So glad it 's in my 'hood!
