Cora Breakfast & Lunch - Halifax

We went to Cora's in Bedford for our daughter's birthday. She had been there several times. I have also been to a few others in different cities.While the server was very friendly, I found the service to be slow, even before 7:30 am. All 7 of us ordered the Cora's Special. The potatoes on all plates, were burned, the ham was burned, and my eggs were cold. The coffee was not very hot either. Not impressed.

The atmosphere seemed a bit bland compared to other locations. The air conditioning may not have been functioning at the time of my visit. I didn't get a clear answer.The service was decent however, was not offered any beverage until aftermy dinner guest arrived 10 mins later.The food was good, as expected. I ate the recommended smoked salmon benny. The eggs were cooked as desired. Our server was approachable and genuinely friendly.

This location did not quite meet the standards of this good restaurant chain.The home fried potatoes were very uneven in size, so most were either under or overcooked.My omelette had generous ingredients but was dry, flat and tough.Crepes were tough, requiring cuttting with a serrated knife!Coffee had a slight burned flavor and the mugs were too small and dainty.Fruit was good but a bit skimpy.Ratings: (5 point scale)Food quality 4Preparation 2Temperature 4Quantity 4Service 4Cleanliness 4Ambience 4Overall score: 72/100 (3.5 stars)

As we reached there no one come to us for 5 minutes. After that one girl came to us and told they are running out of food so it will take 30 minutes to prepare food if we dine in. Then she clean the table so finally after about 15 minutes we got a chance to sit down. The first thing we ordered was hot chocolate and she said they don’t have it. So we ordered orange juice, omelette, fry egg and toast. There were very big chunks of veggies in the omelette but taste was good. Finally as comparing to other Cora places it was very disappointing.

Staff are friendly, but this place has zero quality control and is disgustingly dirty!! The fruit in my meal was either mushy or not ripe. I even had mouldy strawberry tops thrown in there! The coffee tastes and looks like dirty toilet water and the omelette was burnt, flavourless and cold. My family members meals were also terrible.Best part about the meal was the gluten free bread that I had to remind them to bring over because it was forgotten.I don’t know why people come here for breakfast.
