Zum Rolandeck - Halberstadt

Looking for somewhere in meat eating Germany that caters for veggies and serves local dishes is not easy. We found this restaurant while dodging the rain drops in Halberstadt. It's minutes walk from the cathedral and from the city centre and it's a...combined restaurant cum boutique. Despite us not speaking much German and the owner not speaking English, he was very friendly and pointed out the veggie options on the menu. Food was home cooked to order, but still came after only a short wait.

In an almost deserted Halberstadt we came across this nice restaurant for an evening meal. We were the only guests but the landlady was extremely friendly , lit the candles on our table and put some music on. We had time to look around and...the place is gorgeous. Each table is decorated in a different way and looks like a fine piece of art ! The food is good and the service is excellent.

It is not easy to search in Germany for a place that serves vegetables and serves local dishes. we found this restaurant when we left the raindrop in half town. it is only a few minutes walk from the cathedrale and the city center and it is one.
