The toast had been made earlier and was cold the margarine, not butter, was slathered on like frosting. The coffee bitter and lukewarm. A friend went there for lunch the burger he had was dry the fries were average. All in all not a very good experience.
A friend of mine visited for lunch and ordered a burger, which he found to be dry, while the fries were just average. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. He ended up getting a to-go order but only took two bites before discarding it. During my breakfast, the owner stood at our table and must have noticed that I scraped off the cold margarine from my toast and that I had barely touched my food. Yet, he made no effort to inquire about the quality of the meal or why I hadn’t eaten more or finished my coffee.
The Moose Caboose is conveniently located on Main Street, making it easy to find. The owner is incredibly friendly and has many fascinating stories from his past. The food here offers the best BBQ I've encountered in Alaska! The ribs and burgers are out of this world!
Brunch was exactly what I was hoping for. I ordered a cheese omelet, and it was so large that I had half of it to take home. It was packed with real cheddar – delicious! The service was quick and friendly, and the prices were quite reasonable for Haines. The coffee was strong, which is essential for me, as I can't stand weak coffee. The atmosphere was open and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax or even hold a business lunch (or brunch, in my case). I also appreciate that they are open during winter! I'm looking forward to trying their burgers and meats next, as that's what they're famous for in Skagway.
