Essential to book here if you want to eat out overlooking the river. Had a lovely lunch with the in-laws - charming service and good local Austrian cuisine. Not so many boats during the day as most of the traffic is cruise ships and they tend to travel over dinner when guests have seen the local sights.....nice local Carnuntum wines and great meat from the Steiermark. A Volltreffer as they say!

Americans late 30's. We stumbled upon this place on a bike tour and had a wonderful lunch in the courtyard. The portions were large and the food was great. We had the bolognese pasta (made with meat from the owner's farm) and schnitzel. So delicious. Austrian wine selection was lovely. option to eat along the river, inside, or the charming courtyard.

Go down to the railway line and through the door in the flood defences and you will find a quiet shady spot on the banks of the Danube. Here the excellent staff of the Goldenen Anker will serve you with first class food and wine while you watch the working barges and river cruise boats plying their trade between Bratislava and Vienna. This was a real delight after a busy morning visiting nearby Roman Carnuntum, crowded with school children.
