Still a typically lovely, local but even better than I remember it being! There were three of us plus baby, plus dog and all of us were looked after so wonderfully! The service was fantastic… relaxed, friendly and it just added to the experience! The roasts were delicious.. big portions (huge yorkshires) delicious meat trimmings and the wine was great! Not only were the staff super attentive and friendly, but everyone else in the pub was so lovely too (which I think in testament to a good London local)! When I visit my parents again, we’ll make sure we book up again! Making me wish I never left the area!
The Prince hosted our wedding this weekend, at the back of the pub. When booking we knew that they had a wedding in the room above and it was a Saturday so likely to be busy but Will was amazing throughout the booking period, keeping us informed throughout and sending across the food/drink choices with plenty of time. On the day, I headed over early and Will helped me to move stuff around to my taste and decorate how I wanted the area to be. After the wedding, we arrived to champagne being poured, this is where I give a special shout out to Gethin who became our event manager (if you will for the night. HE WAS AMAZING!!! Nothing was too much, despite the fact that the pub was rammed. Constantly asking if we needed anything, if we wanted drinks, bringing them directly to the table...completely went above and beyond it would not be too far to say that he made our wedding even more enjoyable. Absolute hats off to the chefs, the food was unreal, so so tasty 3 courses for 16 people whilst there was a big wedding upstairs nothing was late, everything tasted amazing, so many compliments. I just couldn 't fault the chefs, they are a talent to this pub and I really would seriously recommend the food here as a hidden gem of Stoke Newington. Great music from start to finish, completely up our street. Finished off the night with plenty of margaritas, using the lovely honey tequila (which I 've now coined as The Bride . I honestly cannot thank, recommend, rave about the staff and the service at The Prince enough. I wouldn 't hesitate to come back here in more typical circumstances. Just unreal.
What a disappointment. I haven’t been to this pub for a long time and was keen to retry it. The pub seems to have missed the secret of a good restaurant, food and service. Whilst having no complaints about the food the service was so poor it lost out on the purchase of four sweets , and perhaps of less significance to the owners, or praise. Two guys swanned around at the entrance but seemed to feel that apart from greeting, service was well below there pay grade. This left one poor girl to serve most of the tables. The net result was after watching finished plates for over half an hour we decided to leave rather than enjoy sweets, including a sweet entitlement as part of our grandchild’s ‘Kids offer’. I am sure no one will be bothered but will not be returning.
I'd like to say a big thank you to Will and the rest of the staff who took such great care of us all on Saturday night. Everyone had a great time. Thanks again.
Comfortable pub for a birthday party, there was 30-50 of us and we got a whole floor to ourselves. The food was nice, it's not cheap but tasty. I had a mushroom burger and sweet potato fries.
