Frank's Trattoria (hackettstown)

As for the food: the Fried Calamari was a little too breaded for my liking, but otherwise decent. The Meatball Sub was excellent, with a nice sauce. I might consider returning, but I don’t plan on opting for delivery again.

Earlier this week, we ordered a large plain pizza from Frank's, which has been our go-to spot despite being a bit further from home. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed this time. The pizza was surprisingly small! Did we receive a small pizza by mistake? It still cost us $16, but it barely felt like two regular slices, with the rest being nothing more than embarrassingly tiny pieces—slices that could hardly satisfy a small child. Plus, there was an excessive amount of crust! Were you short on sauce and cheese? It was also undercooked. We’ve been to the store for slices before and have never seen such a sad pie displayed on the counter. Usually, the slices are huge, and we even have leftovers to take home. We hope they can improve in the future because the pizza options near us are terrible, and we really liked this place before.

The food was absolutely outstanding, truly excellent. However, I visited on July 27, 2024, with my family and had a disappointing experience. Upon arriving, I had to seat myself and serve myself. I grabbed two sodas without any staff objecting to it, and the waitress didn’t greet us at all—not a "Good afternoon" or even a simple "Hi." It was quite rude. By the way, I was the only table in the entire restaurant at the time. I had to get up to ask for my check and also had to request the waitress to clear my empty plates. I noticed there were security cameras; I hope the owner takes a moment to observe the service, particularly around 5 PM.

I've had a lot of pizza from all over, and will say this is in my top 5 and #1 in the area. Huge selection of specialty pizzas! Everything is awesome?

Pizza dough is too thin causing it to flop over and everything falls off. Other then that food is good.
