The Yard UOW - GWYNNEVILLE

The Yard is a relatively new dining option at UOW, so I was eager to give it a try. It is a bit difficult to locate as it is hidden in a secluded part of the campus. However, the search was worth it as the restaurant has a pleasant, airy, and subtropical atmosphere. The seating is quite trendy, with low hockey and recycled fuel drums topped with padding (though there are a few regular chairs available). Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. My companion and I arrived for lunch only to find that most of their prepared rolls had already been sold out, with no vegetarian options left. They were unable to make any new ones for us. The selection in the display case was limited and quickly dwindling. The coffee was decent, though I believe better options are available elsewhere on campus. Overall, while the atmosphere at The Yard is nice, I don't anticipate returning due to the lack of food options and availability.

A friend from university recommended this place to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious seating area and overall facility. I enjoyed a delicious coffee and one of their great sandwiches. The prices were reasonable, and they also offer a happy hour in the afternoons. Definitely worth checking out!

The seating, consisting of low stools and recycled fuel drums with added padding (along with a few regular chairs), gives off a hip vibe. Unfortunately, the positive aspects ended there. When my companion and I arrived for lunch at 12:10, most of the prepared rolls had already been sold out, with no vegetarian options left. The limited menu options were quickly dwindling, and they were unable to accommodate new requests. Despite the good coffee, I believe the quality is better at Out to Lunch, another on-campus spot without the Yard's breezy ambiance. Overall, I do not plan on returning in haste.

Was recommended by a friend at uni to go and check it out. I was totally surprised at the decor and large seating area! Got an amazing coffee and one of their sandwiches which was also great. All reasonably priced and they also do a happy hour every afternoon. Definitely worth a look!
