Contribuiți la feedbackThis place is proudly unchanged since the Everest expedition trained there....that applies fully to the cook. Prices are roughly double what they should be and the quality is low. Chef should be given a massive wake up call that food has moved on. Bland soup...miserly portions... inedible porridge...thin cardboard bread...hugely overpeppery sauce on the pork...slapped out puddings...it's lazy and bad. Go for a pint Fter your walk to see the place but don't eat.
Went there today with a friend to show them the history of the place and to have a drink and a meal if possibld after a hard day on the hill. Wanted to pop into the residents lounge to see some of the artefacts. Told residents only . Understandable I guess to a point but the attitude stank .No need for it . Didn't even get the drink order right .There were 2 of us ffs. Won't be calling again in a hurry .
This hotel is truly magnificent. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the chance to stay here. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the bathrooms were amazing (enjoyed a relaxing soak in the roll top baths). While boutique hotels often try to recreate these features, this hotel has them for real. The staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and helpful, guiding us to the outdoor swimming lake and sauna. I cannot praise this hidden gem of a hotel enough. I highly recommend booking a stay here. The bar also serves excellent cask ale. Helpful notes: Breakfast is served at 8:30, dinner at 7:30, and there is WiFi available.
We had a wonderful evening with our family at this restaurant, playing monopoly until closing time. The bartender and chef were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and rich with history. It was the highlight of our trip. Make sure to stop by for a visit if you're looking for a memorable experience.
When I visited the restaurant at lunchtime today, it was closed. The car park was chained off and there was a note on the front door stating it was for residents only. I couldn't find anyone around to ask about it. The website suggests that you can stay at the restaurant, but it didn't seem to be open for non-residents to come in for a meal. I'm not sure if it's permanently closed or if I just happened to visit on a day when it was closed.
