Wintzell's Oyster House - Guntersville

This place for the first time this evening tried and it was such a great choice. I have the black snapper with loaded back potato. Fish was moist and tasteful. Certainly exceeded my expectations. Food was great, service was great and the view from the terrace were remarkable. Definitely recommend and will return.

The food is decent here, but the real attraction of this restaurant is the location and view of the lake. It's a beautiful area. The staff is friendly and the building is well maintained and clean. Menu elements are overpriced, but it is an inland seafood restaurant quite par for the course.

The food and the atmosphere at Wintzells was great! We loved it, looking at the lake from our table. I tried the Bacon scallops, and I thought they were great! They were perfectly cooked and had a ton of taste. I couldn't give up the key like cake, which was also delicious.

I miss those who were in Huntsville, so I took my mother in Guntersville, about 1 hour away. It's a really nice location. We sat in the deck area above the view of the water. The food was really good. I haven't had Wintzells for over 3 years. I wanted to get everything I didn't have at the time. I ordered the seafood oysters, JO plate, fried beans and beers to wash everything. It was all right. I didn't get a photo of the soup, but it was also delicious.

Service was excellent at lunch. Ordered shrimp basket with baked potato loaded and it was nice and hot not overcooked. Shrimp was lightly breaded just a slight bit overcooked. Wife had fish basket with fried okra both were very good. Hush puppies were very well done and since they are on the small side they were quite hard. Only issue for me was the cost. I don't have a problem paying more for a great meal this one however was just good.
