Top O' The River - Guntersville

I recently discovered the charming town of Guntersville and dined at Top O' The River. This restaurant is a popular destination for a reason. I highly recommend the combo plate featuring catfish and fried shrimp. Additionally, try to go around sunset for a stunning view while you enjoy your meal.

My wife and I were in town for a long weekend and decided to enjoy dinner at a restaurant with a view of the lake, choosing Top O' The River. When we arrived, the place was quite busy, but we were seated right away. Our waitress promptly took our drink orders, and after a short wait, she returned to take our dinner orders. I opted for The Riverboat Special, while my wife chose a steak with a baked potato. The catfish I ordered was hot, crispy, and delicious, but my wife felt her steak was slightly overcooked and lacked seasoning. Overall, our experience at Top O' The River was good, but it didn't quite meet our expectations.

All I can say is wow!!! This restaurant is amazing. It’s located right by the river, which makes dining here a delightful experience. You can enjoy the view of the water while savoring your meal. This gem is nestled in beautiful Guntersville, Alabama, my hometown. Now, let’s talk about the customer service—it was fantastic! Our waitress was friendly and attentive! The food was delicious and served hot!!! I relished every bite!!! They also provide generous portions!!! While we waited for our entrees, they treated us to a small cast-iron skillet of cornbread and coleslaw served in a little tin kettle, along with pickled onions. I will definitely be returning, and I’m thrilled to be moving back here!

This is my all time favorite so far. The wait was a little long to get in,but, man it was worth it. The fried catfish was delicious. Also came with a personal skillet of cornbread, slaw,hush puppies and your choice of fries or baked potato. And ofcourse sweet tea. So much food. All delicious and reasonably priced. If you can stand the wait, you definitely need to go. Youwon't be sorry.

View is beautiful. The food is always delicious. The staff is always friendly. Worth the drive. The mustard greens and slaw are a must. It is a 50/50 shot if you get upset tummy or not on the way back home. Not many gas stations. But it is worth it everytime lol
