The White Hart - Guildford

Excellent service and delicious food! My date and I originally planned to eat only at lunchtime, but the atmosphere was so enjoyable that we ended up staying all day and into the night. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The food was a little disappointing and for us, slightly at odds with other Open Table reviews of the White Hart. Our shared seafood platter starter was a generous portion, but it was all rather unimaginatively prepared. The prawns were tasteless, the beetroot and shellfish mixture was swamped with water and was rather unpleasant, and the salmon roulade was bland. My partner said his main course steak was tasty but he ordered medium rare and it arrived medium to well done. My seafood risotto was tasty, but dessert panacotta was rubbery and it lacked flavour. The cost was £80 for three courses for the two of us, including two glasses of wine. This would have been great value for money if the food had been more imaginative and the service accurate. The next day, I bizarrely received an email from Open Table admonishing me (very politely) for not turning up for the meal!

This is a lovely country pub located in a charming village. The staff is friendly and accommodating, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The food is excellent, with a wide variety of options, including great vegetarian choices for a nice change! The prices are very reasonable as well.
