The Ivy Castle View - Guildford

Friendly attentive service. Warm welcome on arrival , given a seat at the bar so they could prep us a table at the window overlooking Castle. The young waiter was friendly and attentive , noting too much trouble. We had the seasonal cocktail which was delicious and served beautifully at the table. I had the lemon sole which was exquisitely cooked. Beautiful surrounding, great service, great food!

We have always had a great experience at the Ivy, brilliant food and exceptional service. Sadly today as we celebrated our daughters Uni graduation we were left disappointed with the Service. Long waiting times, food came out for two but two others had to wait. Curry came out but had to wait for plate to put it in. Ordered a soda a lime but were served just a soda and no lime. Service was slack an not attentive as we usually experience. A real disappointment on a special day. Food lovely as usual such a shame the service lacked customer service and a positive hospitality experience.

We booked The Looking Glass room at The Ivy in Guildford for my 50th birthday celebration, hosting drinks and canapés for 60 guests. Our events manager, Amy, was excellent and always available to help with any aspect of the booking. The room itself was stunning, with its own beautiful bar and washrooms, as well as separate access from Castle Road. On the night, we were looked after by Spencer, Giles, Seraphine, and Yasmin, who provided exceptional attentiveness and professionalism. From the moment guests arrived, they were there to take coats and offer champagne. They were efficient at the bar and engaging with guests, making our experience truly memorable. We couldn't have asked for more.

Fabulous Sunday lunch last weekend for our family of 7, the shepherds pie and apple tart were simply perfect! Our waiter Cal, was awesome....so polite and helpful, good fun, great menu recommendations and kindly took a great family photo for us to remember the meal. He is a credit to the restaurant! The restaurant is a favourite of mine, in fact we had breakfast there earlier in the week to celebrate my birthday. Each and every visit is 10/10 service and food quality, plus great value for money. We look forward to our next visit.

I sat at the bar and was served by Roni, whose attention to detail was amazing and the drinks were excellent! I would highly recommend this restaurant and specifically her service. I am looking forward to coming back. 10/10.
