Contribuiți la feedbackWe tried unsuccessfully to load our entire electric car in the nearby aire and drove to the nearby slow charger in the village for an overnight fee. check in le guilberville friendly personal, comfortable room in an old barn...or building, good meal with a liter house red or apfel wine and 2 coffees in the morning all for €80. not spoken English, but helpful with menu choices. etc.
The truck restaurant has found here, even the opposite where we stay. read the many good reviews and concept; so we went out. we were immediately greeted in the bar that was full. dîner pour trois, s 'il-vous-plaît paid 40 euro. These include the cold...buffet starters, a main part of their choice (about 6 options) and dessert. Also included is a bottle of water, apple wine and red wine. we had the steak with basilikum sauce and the Rougail sauce. I never eat steak cos in the lowlands, they don't know how to cook it, but this steak was as tender and perfect medium as desired. not much English speaking, but with a bit French and on the menu, we have everything we asked. the staff is efficient, fast and good at work. I want to understand. local food also here. I can recommend to anyone, truck drivers, vacation travelers, random passersby to eat a bite here.
Le Routier location, which is mainly used by transporters for overnight stays, but for all. Buffet starter followed by waiter service. excellent food and drink to reasonable praise.
This is a very, very large 'truckers ' stop on the A84 about an hours drive from Caen and the ferry port at Ouistreham. As such its ideal for a quick and inexpensive meal en route to or from the ferry. Its extremely easy to find...being only a couple of minutes drive from the motorway going North on the D974 signposted to Guilberville. The car park is massive and is often full of lorries but there is also dedicated parking for cars close to the buildings. On arrival, report to the bar and tell them whether you want a bar snack or sit down meal. If the latter, you pay the set price at the bar and collect a 'ticket ' which after choosing a table and seating you hand to one of the busy waitresses. There is a fair choice of meals but be prepared, they are all very wholesome and French. For a more European fast food experience, go for one of the bar snacks instead! The experience is very much like eating in a large dining hall and you have to expect tables around you to be occupied by families, truckers and people from all walks of life. Portions are very generous and filling too!
Cheap and cheerful. catering for truck drivers and a firm favorite of locals. no frills, but wine, apple or limonade included in the price. cold buffet starters, all they want, then a choice of main courses.
