Grotta Dell'angelo - GUBBIO

You can’t go wrong eating at this family restaurant which specialises in grilled meats on the open fire. Angelo takes care and pride in cooking the meat just right. Good value and service in a cosy ambience. We barbecue all year round in Australia and pride ourselves on getting it right but we bow to Angelo. We had two meals there, lunch and dinner in the three days that we spent in Gubbio. The cannelloni was also good.

Stayed here for 2 nights on an Intrepid Umbrian Discovery tour. Comfortable, small, rustic hotel in the old medieaval city of Gubbio. The adjoining restaurant is great value for dining. Large, family run with warm friendly hosts. The food is local, seasonal, homestyle delisioso! Many favourite Italian and regional specialties to choose from. Great atmosphere.

I often visit Gubbio and I always eat at the Grotta del Angelo. The owners know my name and that says a lot. The food is incredible. My favorite is the Grigliata Mista di Carne. This is assorted meats grilled on an open father. This is done almost inclusively from the owner . The owners daughter Laura and son Andrea are warm and friendly and always available to answer questions or just for a chat. My daughters almost always have a first with truffles and they love it. The outside patio is wonderful and cool for those hot Italian summer days and nights. In the winter the restaurant is warm with open fire place and full of friendly locals. A must stop. I can't wait to go again.

Very delicious food. we sat outside, there they can sit very comfortably and sit undisturbed and enjoy eating.
