We ordered two main dishes only, Barbecued boneless Beef Ribs for La Reina and Pescado Zarandeado for me. Ribs were falling apart tender with a barbecue sauce that was slightly sweet, with just a little vinegar and a coffee flavour that was perfect. Sitting on a bed of pureed Camote del cerro (think creamy mashed potatoes but better) with something hiding in there that sends shivers across your tongue and brightens each mouthful perfectly. Pescado was cooked perfectly and was served on a bed of risotto laced with sweet corn kernels and that same mystery ingredient that was in the Camote. Happy mouth and happy diners. Eaten with a couple of glasses each of a crisp Spanish white wine whose name escapes me. Total cost for two was just under $1000 pesos. We will definitely return!
My new favorite restaurant for casual dining. Everything from the decor, staff and the best part, the food, was outstanding. I had the short rib and my husband had the sirloin sliders plus a few sides. Everything was amazing. Dessert creme brûlée unreal. Lastly, you just can't beat a great cup of coffee to complete your meal and we weren't disappointed here either. Darren, you've done it again. You are the chef and owner of both my most favorite restaurants. Thank you for the most incredible dining experiences.
