Cotidiano - Guadalajara

For those who want a boutique Eli experience, there are MANY such places in Providencia. I really felt that the market next to the restaurant has distracted much from any warmth that had the culinary experience.

Perfect neighborhood spot, very well cured. Trendy market full of ingenious gourmet hipster things and restaurant section for a chill brunch. Guadalajara “yoga-happy-trendy-wealthy-smiling” people in his finest. Valet etc.

Organic, delicacies cities have become very popular in the city. I tried this new for lunch and breakfast and liked lunch option better. You have a special lunch menu every day, but in breakfast and lunch the portions are small. What I liked most was the Cotidiano coffee. Although it's a good place, I'd rather go to other restaurants, but it's good to try.

It is easy to take money in Cotidiano because of delicious chocolates, biscuits and other removal items sen gluten. Cotidiano has fresh bread of all kinds, cheese, deli items, a few stoneware dishes, bedding and more. After shopping, I stayed for the first dinner and had the organic salmon chicken with a small salad. The chicken was humble, so I brought half home. The salad was just salad and some cherry tomatoes, so I wanted some more vegetables in it. They also brought me fresh hot tortillas with my meal. The lemonade was great, not too sweet and sugary. The service was excellent. I'll go back and try the fish tacos and salads.

I’ve always been a fan of markets blended into a city that allow you to get local products and even dine in if you want. This is extremely common in countries like Italy and France. You can go and get cheese and cured meats to...be paired with a nice bottle of wine at night, but if you are hungry while at the task you can always get a nice sandwich or baguette for you to dine in. This kind of markets also sell non-comestible products that are still related to dining. Like silverware, linens, glassware, decorations, cooking utensils, spices. Personally, I had never seen such a concept in Guadalajara. I mean, the city has a ton of local markets. However, those are more like farmer’s markets. Cotidiano is the kind of spot where you can find the finest in fresh produce, prepared foods, sandwiches, prepared meals, beer, wine and dining products. They have an eclectic variety of local trends for sale on both food and goods. The reason why I visited Cotidiano was to have brunch there. I liked the fact that you must walk through the market area to get to the dining area. Walking through the market I ran into an aunt and cousin who talked to me about some linens that were available at Cotidiano. It was nice that I could grab a sample book and take it to the table that I would dine at. For dining we started by ordering a green juice, which was just right. Not too sweet and not lacking flavor either. Then a pastry basket was brought to our table. A crème filled chocolate donut topped with pistachios immediately caught my attention. I could even overhear the ladies on the table right next to us talking about how looked that donut looked. I obviously have it a try. It was outstanding! For breakfast, I ordered “Las Golditas”. Three Mexican corn made baskets topped with cochinita or panela (a local Mexican cheese along with lettuce. The person who joined me for breakfast ordered an omelet, which I did not try. She said it was very good though. A couple of different salsas were provided to spice up both dishes. Both salsas were a great pairing. My gorditas were very tasty. The one thing that I would highlight is that the portions were on the small side of the spectrum. Very tasty, but not filling. The service was outstanding both when dining and when looking at some linens in the market area. I bought some linens that I saw in the market section. Really liked the fact that they are tear apart. Both the placemats and napkins come in rolls that allow you tear apart 12 units each. The lady who helped me pick was extremely polite in explaining this and helped me get the exact color combinations that I wanted. I had never seen linens that came in a tear apart roll. This is the kind of out of the ordinary gems that you find at markets like Cotidiano. I was pleased with the fact that I could easily travel back home to Seattle with these easy to pack rolls. I am now prepared to host some dinners that I have in the upcoming weeks. Definitely recommend checking out Cotidiano both for dining and for what they sell at the market. They have a wide variety of organic super foods (quinoa, golden berry, acai berry, etc. from a local brand called Green Peach. Not only do they come in great visual presentations and sizes, but they also are extremely good and healthy! Worth stopping by Cotidiano to get this and more!
