Mystic Grill In Cov

This place has truly become a typical tourist trap. As a local we still want the food and service to be good. The manager on duty is very curt with black people but very friendly to other patrons and she is black herself! She is very short with us anytime we have been there during her shift. It never fails, she does it EVERY time we have tried to support their business. The salad I was given had grilled chicken that was dry as a desert and when I had them take the chicken back, I was left with a whole lot of iceberg lettuce and three tomatoes, a few cubes of cucumber and that was it. Not a colorful salad at all and very unsatisfying. I had to go home and eat after spending $16!!! on a way below standard salad. I am glad I didn't bother with a drink. Our waitress was as gracious as she could be, but the experience was not like 2 years ago when we first arrived to Covington. We would frequent this place often because they even had a pretty good few vegan options for my hubby. A delicious BBQ jackfruit sandwich that was pleasantly flavorful and a few other items that are no longer in the menu. The old menu was better and service was fine as long as the black manager is not there sad to say. Now it's like eating in the city center of France. They just take your money, serve a mediocre meal and run because they assume everyone is just a tourist passing through. All of these positive reviews must be the high from being near the Vampire Diaries sights because the food is not that great anymore, my daughter was so disappointed with her usual favorite dish, the Mac and cheese with fried chicken...just a whole disappointing experience. We might not be able to go back, City Pharmacy or the Social Goat are a better bet. I think we will stick to that.

The service was great. My girlfriends and I had a great time. We were the only ones that had never watched Vampire Diaries we went because the food choices looked great. Then realized after we were there why it was do popular lol

Visited this fine establishment on 8/7/2024 . I've lived 20 mins from here for over 20 yrs and finally going in to try them and I frequent the square. Gladly it didn't disappoint. The building is themed just like the shows fimled here very clean and nice. The staff from the host to the servers were friendly and accommodating . The food was good we had three appetizers consistenting of the chicken and waffles, the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes all were delicious! Our entrees were a veggie burger, a grouper sandwich, fried chicken sandwich and a clocktower burger . My only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is my burger lacked seasoning it wasn't nasty but wasn't seasoned now that may have been intentional because it has so many components like a fried egg , bacon , cheese and fried onion rings but they still didn't take away the blandness of the actual patty with those bites where all components didn't make it . Otherwise no complaints it's definitely worth trying .

Our server was absolutely awesome! She was very attentive and courteous!
