Lucky Buck Cafe - Groveland

On our way home from Yosemite we stopped in and split the delicious Chicken Fried Steak eggs (the potatoes were perfect too) on Wednesday. It did not disappoint some of the best we've ever had. The service was great too, I don't recall the waitress' name, she was very pleasant. We also got a side biscuit that did not disappoint. We will stop by here again next time we're up that way.

Good food and service. I love the traditional American short-order diner menu, and comfort food. I have yet to have a bad meal there. The diner itself is clean, with a counter where one can look into the kitchen, as well as tables and banquettes.If you're looking for the familiar, but different, try Buck's grilled cheese on sourdough, served with housemade tomato soup, which is delicious and nothing like the canned condensed version we grew up with. Only a short drive from Groveland, it's a great choice for year-round locals.

Pleasantly surprised. Stayed at a B&B nearby and owner recommended this place. Had dinner there one night. Asian chicken salad was ample and tasty. Hubby was very happy with his fish and chips. Good beer selection. Went back for breakfast and it was also good. My breakfast sandwich was yummy (I subbed a fried egg for scrambled). Perfect bacon and the country potatoes are the bomb!! I hate undercooked, uncrispy potatoes and these were perfect. Hubby had the avocado toast and says it was good but eggs were undercooked and a little greasy.

Great service and nice homemade comfort food. Ate two dinners and a breakfast while visiting Yosemite

Stopped for lunch during our honeymoon because of the extensive vegetarian menu. Came back for breakfast two days later, and both meals were phenomenal. I recommend the spicy California omlette. Staff is friendly, the diner is cozy, and the prices are reasonable, especially compared to the resort restaurants nearby.
