De La Plage - Groix

As others have said....wonderful setting in idyllic location. And that's all that can be said that's good about it. I can't comment on the food as we were not able to eat. We arrived at about 1250...so not that late. It was a lovely sunny day and although they were fairly busy they still had several tables still available. We hovered near one and no one paid any attention. Rather it was as though we were deliberately ignored. We went indoors and asked an extremely surly girl if we could eat and she said I don't know ask my colleague outside. After waiting about 10 minutes we finally managed to get her colleague's attention....and his response was I don't know I'll have to check with my colleague. That would be the one who referred us to him then. You couldn't make it up could you? She went off to consult the reservations book....could she not have done this when we asked? He came back and said there were no further reservations and we could have a table if we really wanted it but there would be a considerable delay. They clearly could not have been less interested in serving us and it was not even apologetic....just surly and rude. So unsurprisingly we left....After a walk around the village we headed back to the main town on the island where we knew several establishments would be open and had to pass the restaurant. We noted that a) several customers who had been waiting when we asked for a table were just being served...some 20 minutes later, so he was't kidding about the delay. And b) the food looked grim...tiny portions of processed looking food that resembled what one might get from a burger van. So perhaps a lucky escape all in all.

I visited with my wife for lunch. It is a splendid location on the sandy beach. It is on the road but only about 3 cars passed in an hour. We had cold beer and Moules et Frits which were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. We returned for an unhurried beer a couple of days later. It was quiet and delightful.

Ah that we are well attacked on the terrace overlooking the beautiful beach of locmaria! quiet atmosphere and holiday so. in the plate is more uneven, if pizzas and fish

Great! The staff is welcoming, the view is splendid. It's good to live in this establishment.
