Habanero Fish Tacos - Gridley

Terrific food! We have eaten there many times and the food is outstanding!

Just started coming here recently. Food is very good. Just a nice comfortable funky little place.

The service is a bit stilted, but I think that is a bit of a language barrier. When speaking Spanish, the waitress chirped up and was effusive The restaurant is clean and welL maintained. The chips and salsa are the best in town by far. Their La Concha Salad is very good and quite large, with no preservatives on the lettuce. The Sincronizada, which is a meat and cheese quesadilla, is very tasty and the meat is clean and doesn't have a bunch of fat and gristle in it. Rice is light and fluffy and flavorful The refried beans are also very good. Enchiladas and tamales are very good. With plenty of fillings and a good sauce that tops any of the other enchilada sauces which I've had in town. Tacos are not my favorite here, but they are good and they are full of meat and such.

My goodness what can I say? Even Taco Bell nachoes are better than this place. For $11.99 I received a cold plate with tortilla chips, about 1/4 cup of chunky pork, one slice of tomato (cubed) and a sprinkling of cheese and a dab of sour cream. There were maybe 15 whole beans under the chips...that was it. My husband and I had water to drink with a slice of lemon floating in it, we were not asked if we wanted lemon but after tasting the water, we know why they added it. The water tasted terrible.

First time visit, stopped here for dinner. I ordered the Camarones Zacatecas and my husband order the Mocajete. Food was delicious, shrimp was huge, nice attentive staff. Will definitely try again!!
