Neither of us were disappointed. The service was discreet, considerate, and timely. In addition, we had a table with a view of Grenoble. It was a real pleasure to dine at Chez Per' Gras.
From the court yard, we had a stunning view of the mountains during the sun set, and a even better view of the city in the evening. A cool breeze in a hot summer night just made the evening a great experience in Grenoble. Food is good. Desert was great.
The journey to the restaurant by car is pretty hair raising slopes that you would be scared to ski down! But the journey is so worth it. Try to get a table by the window, from which you will get a magnificent view not only over Grenoble, but the panorama of the hills to the South. It will keep you happy while they make the food individually for you. Today it was lobster or hake as the main course, and either side of those were just as good. Pate de foie with a piping hot brioche, and all sorts of chocolatey or fig based desserts. Totally delicious! We would recommend it to the most fastidious of gourmets. Why isn't it in Michelin Rouge, with a rosette?
Fortunate enough to visit Grenoble for WWC! Came across this gorgeous establishment when we decided to walk to the top of the mountain to take in the view. We booked lunch for the next day and were not disappointed! The view is SPECTACULAR and the staff friendly and accommodating. The lamb was really delicious (us Aussies know good lamb ; and the desserts were beautiful and not overwhelmingly sweet! Great local produce and fresh ingredients. Loved the whole experience !!
We were fortunate that this lovely outdoor restaurant squeezed us in when we discovered that the more popular restaurant on the other side of the mountain, Le Teleferique ? didn't have our reservation because they apparently don't check for online bookings and each time I tried to call them I was answered by a recorded message in French. Anyway, when we arrived with our fingers crossed, we were told that we didn't have a reservation and that they were fully booked and to try the cafe. Luckily for us, the staff at Chez le Per'Gras quickly made up a table for us and we had 4 delicious courses with beautiful wines. The price was 59€ each for the food and only 7 and 8€ per glass for the wine. Unlike the other restaurant, this one had dressed tables and felt more elegant, so in the end, our misfortune turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as we loved everything about this little gem high in the mountains. You can take photos of Grenoble from the public area near the gondola, but walk the 5 mins to this restaurant to have dinner.
