Mountain View Brasserie - Greenville

First time in the Catskills and the restaurant in my hotel was closed due to an event being hosted. Found this on Google and was about 25 minutes drive away. Also didn?t realize so many places are closed on Wednesday! We ordered too much since wewanted to try. The stuffed mushrooms were great! Some cheese and meat was part of the breaded stuffing. The tomato soup waspretty good also. Couldn?t figure out the matter stringy meat that was in the soup. Crab cakes were quite good too. The fishtaco was great. It is ahi seared with a black seasoned crust. It was half cooked. I normally don?t like uncooked fish but Icouldn?t tell it was half cooked. The Asian chicken wrapped in lettuce was good too. It was a little sweet with some hint ofginger, topped with some crunchy noodles. I wanted duck so we tried the citrus duck with some home fries on the side. Duckwasn?t even warm and some of it was really gamey, but the other sections tasted fine. The skin wasn?t crispy. Didn?t like it.The seared scallops were good except it was a little on the salty side. It came with rice which was a little under cooked andspinach which was amazingly good. The last dish was shrimp and linguini. It was sour and wasn?t crispy. I understand why itwas sour. They were trying to cancel out the heaviness of the dish since it is very oily. I?m not a fan of lemon shrimp. Wedidn?t have room for dessert. The service was great. All in all I would recommend this place as it seems to be the only goodplace I saw on Google.

Impeccable service, and excellent food. Two of our cocktails weren't made to our liking, so they replaced them in minutes without complaint. Literally everything our group had was delicious. No complaints. High prices, but you get a truly greatexperience.

After hearing so many positive things, I was excited for a fantastic birthday dinner at this restaurant. However, my experience was quite the opposite. The food was disappointing across the board. My crab cakes were extremely small, just two bites each. My husband's pork was bland and lacked flavor. My daughter's pasta carbonara was dry, underseasoned, with only a few peas and a small sprinkling of bacon. It was a letdown, especially considering the glowing reviews. We left feeling unsatisfied and won't be returning.

The stuffed mushrooms were extremely soggy and would have been better with cremini mushrooms instead of white ones. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. In today's times of inflation and recession, customers expect excellence, and the restaurant should prioritize consistency and quality. Additionally, I missed the previous elegant decor and beautiful drapes that used to adorn the restaurant. The current decor is plain and cold, and they should work on creating a warmer ambiance in the dining room.

We had a great dining experience at this restaurant with delicious food, tasty drinks, and amazing desserts! We enjoyed our meal at an outdoor table and even had the added bonus of a band playing at the drive-in across the street, providing a nice background music for our dinner.
