Beacon Steaks Inc - Greenville County

A hidden gem just off the highway near Greenville, we’ve dined here on two special occasions. The food is flawlessly prepared, with every detail attended to. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are classic, and the cooking is perfection. You wouldn’t expect to find this level of food and service outside of a major metropolitan area. I’ve visited steakhouses all over the country and have spent twice as much for half the quality that we experienced at Chophouse 47. This is a must-visit for exceptional steak and seafood, outstanding service, and a quiet, intimate dining atmosphere.

Our waiter, David, was truly exceptional—professional and attentive without being intrusive. The steaks were superbly cooked and very generous in size. The creamed spinach and steak fries were outstanding. While the onion rings were huge, we found them a bit heavy and overly battered. The wine list catered to a variety of tastes. The bustling atmosphere on a Tuesday night was a clear sign of their success. We will definitely return.

Among the four of us, we ordered two steaks, one crab cake, and one lamb chop. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The crab cakes were made entirely of crab, with no fillers—truly excellent! Both steaks were tender and cooked just right. The lamb was also tender but a bit trickier to cut around the bone. All four of us wholeheartedly give Chophouse 46 a resounding thumbs up. Our waiter, Patrick, was incredibly helpful and attentive, offering outstanding service.

Our waitress was very good; professional; genuine; informative; did not hover but was always appropriately available; our needs were met. Thank you. The appetizers were superb; the wedge salade with the blue cheese crumbles and dressing and bacon, very good. The steak, lamb, and lobster were perfectly cooked. However, the asparagus was woody not very good and the hollandaise was more like soft butter. The onion rings were way over the top, nearly inedible; the outside coating was doughy and heavy and the onions too chewy. The cheesecake was marvelous. All of the food portions were more than generous. Overall, a great experience.

The food and service at this restaurant is always amazing. We have gone several times and never disappointed. The only reason I rated it 4 stars this time, and not 5, was because of the wait. I made reservations for 6:30 and it was after 7:00 before we were seated.
