The Merchant’s Wife - GREENPORT

My friends and I have dined at the Merchant's wife on Saturday night and were also impressed! The restaurant itself is beautiful, the oysters were fresh and the striped bass was to die. The server was attentive and pleased with special requests. We liked it so much that we came back for Sunday brunch the next morning! Very recommended!

We had an excellent dinner tonight. Fortunately for us tonight it has not been discovered yet, but surely it will soon be. This place should definitely be one of the Greenports hot spots. It's at Menhaden Hotel. Swanky new decor. I went in and sat down right away. The four of us shared half of the menu and would like to have tried the other half. The prices were very reasonable. All local fresh ingredients uniquely prepared. We had the opportunity to meet the cook....very nice person who definitely cares what she serves. Very recommended.

We had an absolutely wonderful brunch at The Merchant's Wife during the stay on our boat in a local marina. Our party consisted of four adults and two young ladies (5 and 6 1/2). Not only were we warmly greeted at the door, the waiter was most attentive to all needs, and never in our way through the meal. Our food was perfectly prepared we had breakfast pizza (eggs, ham, Fontina, caramelized onions, and Hollandaise, , Farmers Market Breakfast Sandwich, (ham, eggs, crispy bacon, greens, and cheese, and for the young ladies, the fluffiest pancakes of all time! and a freshly cut fruit bowl. We felt that the price was excellent and the quality and quantity of our brunch was in no way! In a city with many restaurants this place is really a hidden gem It will be our way every time we are in Greenport! Great success in the future and thanks for opening a beautifully decorated, stylish, simple space to meet the needs of our three generations family!

This hidden gem didn't disappoint. Food and service were impeccable. I recommend Pasta Nera, I still dream about it 24 hours later. Yancey, our bartender and service were Notch. He made an impressive White Nigroni and helped us combine the right wine with our meal. I can't say enough about this restaurant. You should eat here. A
